Applying for Mississippi Medicaid               
 To qualify for Medicaid in Mississippi:
  • You must be a citizen of the United States or an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence
  • You must be a resident of Mississippi.
  • You must meet requirements for age and/or disability, income, resources and other Mississippi Medicaid eligibility requirements 
  • You must file an application at the Medicaid Regional Office or at an Outstation Site which serves your area
  • You must provide requested verification within the allowed time limits

Applications for Medicaid may be filled out at the Regional Medicaid office  which serves your home community.
Eligibility Hearings
An eligibility hearing is a legal process that you may ask for if you do not agree with a decision that has been made about your Medicaid eligibility.

A request for an eligiblity hearing must be submitted within 30 days from the date that you receive notice of action taken on your Medicaid case. 

The request may be submitted by writing a letter to your Medicaid Regional Office or the Medicaid State office or by completing a "Hearing Request" form which you may obtain from your Medicaid Regional Office.
