For dates of service on and after Oct. 1, 2015, entities covered under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability act (HIPAA) are required to use the International Classification of Diseases, 10th Edition (ICD-10) code sets in standard transactions adopted under HIPAA. All providers covered by HIPAA must make the transition. This is a directive of the Division of Medicaid for the entire country, not just for the State of Mississippi.
On Friday, April 25, 2014 from 12-1 p.m., the Mississippi Division of Medicaid will host an informational webinar for all medical providers to announce details regarding ICD-10 implementation and testing plans. Providers may join the webinar by using the following instructions:
